Resourceful

There were always projects lurking in the corners of every room. Despite there ever presence, we did get a lot of projects done. I loved watching my mom as she would fix anything from a broken hammer to a hair clip with a combination of super glue, duct tape, string, pliers, wire, and an assortment of clips and rubber bands. As she worked she would go into a sort of meditative state and you could hear her breathing, almost whispering to her tools. She passed this knack for working with her hands on to me and I’ve made it a habit to dedicate a part of my backpack to various tools and adhesives just in case. Whether I need to fix my shoe, someone’s backpack, or the hem of my skirt while I’m at school or on the move, I’m always prepared. - Clara
